Biographical Information[edit]
Bryan Smith was an outfielder-catcher-pitcher who was a first-time All-Star in the Manitoba Senior Baseball League in 1965, 1970 and 1971. In 1965, he hit .316 and went 7-0 to tie Brian Hodgson for second in the league in wins. He went to the St. Louis Cardinals training camp in 1967. His brother Dallas Smith, was also an All-Star in Manitoba's senior league but went on to bigger fame in the NHL with the Boston Bruins. Another brother, Mel Smith, also got a try-out with the Cardinals, and a 4th brother, Don, also played in Canada. Bryan was with Team Canada in 1971.
