Biographical Information[edit]
Bruno Beneck was a prominent figure in European baseball.
Beneck was a journalist and filmmaker. He helped unite the Italian Baseball League and Italian Baseball Federation. From 1969-1984, he was head of the Italian Baseball Federation and he was President of the Confederation of European Baseball from 1971-1984. He was vice president of the International Baseball Association at one point. He helped lobby for the return of baseball to the Olympics, starting those efforts in 1969. He helped organize the first Intercontinental Cup. He was an inaugural member of the Italian Baseball Hall of Fame in 2005.
