Biographical Information[edit]
The brother of Frank Foreman, John Foreman debuted in 1895 with the Pittsburgh Pirates at age 19 with a record of 8-6, and an ERA of 3.22, although he gave up many unearned runs. The next season, 1896, was his last in the majors as he was less effective.
He was on the same team as his brother Frank in 1896 with the Cincinnati Reds. They were both pitchers. Brownie was 12 years younger than brother Frank. John also worked a couple of games as an umpire that season.
One source shows his amateur and professional career stretching from 1893-1900, with nine different stops in the minors. After his baseball days he was a policeman. See 1894 Petersburg Players
