Brock Ballou
Brock Ballou
- Born c. 1992 in Mount Juliet, TN USA
Biographical Information[edit]
Brock Ballou umpired his first major league game on May 28, 2022. Not only was he the only umpire to do so that season, but he was the first since 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic forced Major League Baseball to bring up a number of umpires from the minor leagues due to the particular conditions under which that season was played. He ended up working 30 games in his first season.
After graduating from the Wendelstedt umpire school, he began his umpiring career in the independent American Association in 2013. He moved to the Appalachian League in 2014 and worked his way up from there, reaching the AAA Pacific Coast League in 2020 (when there were no games played, of course).
