Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Brian Adams played in the minor leagues from 2000 to 2010.

He was drafted twice. Initially, he was taken by the San Diego Padres in the 11th round of the 1999 amateur draft, but did not sign. He did sign after being taken by the Boston Red Sox in the 8th round of the 2000 amateur draft, a couple of selections ahead of pitcher Nick Masset and a few ahead of future star Brandon Webb. The signing scout was Jeffrey Zona. He was 9-8, 3.52 in 34 games (2 starts) in his second campaign, 2001, then he posted a 2.11 mark as a reliever in 2002. Partway through 2003, he was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers as the player to be named later in a deal for minor league pitcher Mike Nicolas.

By 2005, he was in the independent leagues. With the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks that year, he had a 1.51 ERA and 11 saves in 39 games; he followed that with 10 saves in 2006. Pitching as a starter for the first time since 2000, he went 15-2, 3.68 in 2007 for the Somerset Patriots, earning Atlantic League Pitcher of the Year honors. He latched on with the Uni-President Lions of the Chinese Professional Baseball League in 2008, but went just 2-1, 6.75 in 4 starts. He was 11-7, 4.92 and 13-8, 4.61 back in indy ball in 2008 and 2009, respectively. He had a 1.07 ERA in 6 starts for the Broncos de Reynosa of the Mexican League in 2010, and also made 10 starts (4-4, 3.24) for the independent Somerset Patriots that year to wrap up his career. He also spent time in the Mexican Pacific Winter League and Dominican Winter League throughout his career.
