Brandon Knight was drafted in 1994 by the Colorado Rockies as a second baseman, then in 1995 as a pitcher. He was recalled from the Triple-A New Orleans Zephyrs on July 26, 2008 by the New York Mets and returned to the majors almost six years after his last appearance.
Knight was 1-0 with a 6.75 ERA in the 2008 Olympics, pitching for Team USA, which won the bronze medal. He struggled in a loss against the South Korean national team and had a solid outing in a victory over Taiwan.
Knight went 6-2 with a 3.56 ERA for the Samsung Lions in the 2009 KBO season, being their most effective starter. He replaced Runelvys Hernández on the roster in July. After his playing career ended, he remained in South Korea as pitching coach of the Nexen Heroes.
