Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Bonifacio Aponte played in the minor leagues in the 1970s and 1980s.
He began his career in the New York Yankees system, where he found some luck -- with the Fort Lauderdale Tarpons beteen 1971 and 1972, he was 19-19 with 17 complete games, 6 shutouts and a 2.92 ERA in 48 appearances.
After playing briefly in 1973, Aponte joined the Mexican League, where he remained a few years. In 1979, he played in the Inter-American League. He then resurfaced in the Mexican League in 1985.
