Biographical Information[edit]
Bobby Pierce was a college coach.
Pierce was an All-Southeastern Conference outfielder at Alabama. At age 23, he became head coach of Chipola Junior College in August 1982 and won Coach of the Year by going 41-15 and winning the state title. He was hired as a one year interim coach, but ended up 295-95 in 7 years at Chipola. He was assistant coach at Alabama from 1990-1994. He started the baseball program at the University of Alabama-Huntsville in 1995 and was 276-108 in seven seasons, winning Gulf South Conference Coach of the Year in 2001. He became head coach of Troy State University in 2003 and won Atlantic Sun Conference Coach of the Year in 2005.
