Bobby Kilpatrick peaked at AA as a player then was a successful college coach.
Kilpatrick split 1961 between the Harlan Smokies (5 for 26) and Daytona Beach Islanders (.311/.394/.425, 42 BB to 19 K). He remained in the Chicago White Sox chain for three more summers. In '62, he batted .343/.444/.421 in 57 games for the Sarasota Sun Sox (scoring 48 times) and .289/.397/.365 for the Clinton C-Sox. He drew 88 walks and scored 106 runs that year. He was 5th in the Sox chain in walks and 3rd in runs (behind Deacon Jones and Dale Rohde).
In 1963, he was with the Lynchburg White Sox (.250/.324/.297 in 21 G) and Eugene Emeralds (.277/.378/.334, 64 BB, 14 SB, 3 CS in 112 G). He was 6th in the Pale Hose system with 71 walks that year. He ended his playing career in 1964 with Lynchburg (.286/.318/.286 in ( G) and Sarasota (.297/.391/.349 in 49 G, 12 SB, 0 CS). He hit .296 in his pro career with an OBP around .381. He was 27-for-33 in steal attempts for seasons for which caught stealing data is available.
He then became head coach of his alma mater, Central High School. He was head coach of the Memphis State University from 1972-1992, winning 653 games and having the first 40-win season in school annals. He coached Dave Anderson and Charlie Lea at Memphis.
