Biographical Information[edit]
Bobby Brown was the second Bobby Brown to play for the New York Yankees, after Dr. Bobby Brown, the postseason hitting machine and future AL President. This Bobby also appeared in the postseason with the Yankees, scoring 2 runs while batting 1-for-2 in 8 games between the 1981 Division Series, ALCS and World Series. He later started all five games of the 1984 World Series for the San Diego Padres against the Detroit Tigers. Replacing Kevin McReynolds, who was injured in the NLCS, he went 1 for 15 as the Padres lost in 5 games. In 502 regular season game over five seasons, Bobby batted .245/.295/.355, seeing semi-regular action only in 1980 for the Yanks and posting better than career norms (.260/.306/.415) in 137 games.
