Biographical Information[edit]

Bob Williams played in the Pittsburgh Pirates system in 1943 and from 1947 to 1951. He began his professional career at 17 years old.

Perhaps his best campaigns were his final two -- in 1950, he hit .267 with a career-high 12 home runs and 31 doubles in 137 games for the Hutchinson Elks and in 1951, he batted .294 with seven dingers in 129 games between the Elks and Burlington Bees. Overall, Williams batted .268 with 40 home runs in 640 games.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.
