Biographical Information[edit]
First basesman Bob White played in the St. Louis Cardinals system from 1954 to 1958. In 1954, at 19 years old, he slashed .338/.420/.568 with 32 home runs, 124 RBI, 136 runs scored and 187 hits in 134 games for the Ardmore Cardinals; he had 77 walks and 49 strikeouts. The next year, he hit .322/.410/.447 with 5 home runs, 75 RBI, 37 doubles, 15 stolen bases, 118 runs and 175 hits in 144 games for the Fresno Cardinals. He drew 83 walks to 70 strikeouts. His 1956 record is not 100% complete, however he hit around .309/.379/.446 with 10 home runs and 71 RBI in 117 games between the Peoria Chiefs (116 games) and Houston Buffaloes (1 game). His batting averages fell to .266 and .273 in his final two campaigns, respectively.
Overall, White hit about .303 with 60 home runs, 401 RBI, 432 runs and 744 hits in 655 games over 5 seasons.
