Bob White (minors01)
Bob White
Biographical Information[edit]
Bob White played in the minor leagues from 1890 to 1891 and from 1895 to 1898. He supposedly hit .485 with 83 hits, 70 runs, 20 doubles, 6 triples, 6 home runs and a .778 slugging mark in 53 games for the Burlington Spiders of the Eastern Iowa League in 1895, but that number is suspect. The Baseball Reference register has multiple league players batting over 1.000 that year, so his average might be the result of a clerical error. He hit .344 with 32 runs scored in 22 games for the Burlington Colts that year, as well, bringing his potential season average to .436 with 115 hits and 102 runs scored in 75 games. A couple years later, back with the Colts, his average was down to .235, but he stole 25 bases in 84 games.
