Biographical Information[edit]

Bob Way played five games for the 1927 White Sox shortly after he turned 21 years of age. He was in five games, of which three were as a pinch-runner, two as a pinch-hitter and one as a second baseman for an inning. As a hitter, he went 1-for-3. His one hit occurred on April 17, in the ninth inning when the White Sox had a nine-run ninth inning to win the game 12-5 against the 1927 St. Louis Browns.

He also played five seasons in the minors. Most notably, he hit .328 with 14 home runs for the Petersburg Broncos in 1926, which presumably played a big role in helping him make the White Sox team in April of 1927.
