Bob Symonds

Biographical Information[edit]

Bob Symonds was the head coach of the Triton College baseball team from 1971 to 2004, posting a record of 1,373-457 (a .750 winning percentage). He replaced Rich Maack and was replaced by Harry Torgerson. He led the club to the 1993 NJCAA Division I Baseball World Series finals, but lost to Yavapai Community College. He again took the team to the finals in 1994, but lost to Galveston College.

Among others, Hall of Famer Kirby Puckett and All-Star Lance Johnson played under Symonds.

Symonds fraternal twin brother, Rich Symonds, was head coach at Oakton Community College from 1974 to 2002.
