Biographical Information[edit]

Bob Sprout pitched one game in the majors, with the Los Angeles Angels in 1961, but is better known for his 22-strikeout no-hitter in the minors in 1960.

In his first professional season, Sprout went 15-7 for the Decatur Commodores in 1960, along with 264 strikeouts.

Sprout injured his arm during spring training of 1962, and he pitched in pain after that.

After his baseball days he worked for many years at a company that made electrical connectors.
