Biographical Information[edit]
Bob Roesner served as a replacement umpire in the American League in 1978 and 1979. He umpired one game in 1978, on August 25th when the regular umpires went on a one-day strike, and for 16 games in 1979, appearing in his final game on May 12th. Reports say he also scouted for the Milwaukee Brewers in the early 1970s, though he is not listed in the Hall of Fame's comprehensive Diamond Mines scout database.
His umpiring crew was cast for the movie Major League II in 1994.
