Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Bob Lightbody pitched in the minor leagues despite having no right hand. Lightbody was signed by the Great Falls Electrics in 1951 out of the Helena American Legion.
Lightbody debuted with a 1 inning relief appearance, striking out all 3 batters he faced. He then had 2 more relief appearances before earning a start on May 22, throwing a 7-0 shutout against the Boise Pilots. A few days later the roster limit went into effect and he was optioned to the Eugene Larks. Lightbody went 1-1 in 4 starts for Eugene, including 2 complete games. He was returned to Great Falls in late June and released, ending his pro career.
