Biographical Information[edit]

He hit .241/.313/.310 in 30 games for the 1967 Ogden Dodgers, in a pitcher-friendly year, and fielded .868 at third base. He was named the Pioneer League All-Star third baseman. [1] He then served in the Vietnam War and got the Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars, cutting short his playing career. [2] He was assistant coach at SIU Edwardsville and Southwestern Illinois College. From 1989-2007, he was head coach of Saint Louis University, coaching 997 games and setting the school record for career wins (361) and season wins (32). He was the longest-tenured coach in Saint Louis University athletics at the time he retired due to health reasons. [3]
