Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Bob Hicks was the 15th overall pick in the 1978 amateur draft, having been taken by the St. Louis Cardinals. He spent most of his career in A ball and never played above Double A. He reached double digit home run totals three times. In 1980, he hit .267/.301/.389 with 12 home runs and 55 RBI in 131 games for the Gastonia Cardinals and in 1981, he hit .186/.238/.313 with 12 home runs and 52 RBI in 123 games between Gastonia and the St. Petersburg Cardinals. In 1983, Hicks hit .256/.307/.422 with 18 home runs and 71 RBI in 124 games for the Springfield Cardinals. Overall, he batted .237/.284/.365 with 53 home runs and 253 RBI in 591 games over seven seasons.
