Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Bob Becker played in the minor leagues in 1945, going 2-3 with a 3.56 ERA in 11 games for the Middletown Rockets, before joining the Army Air Force to serve in the Pacific Theater of World War II. He returned to professional baseball in 1947, though statistics for that year are unavailable as he pitched less than 45 innings. In 1948, went 7-15 with a 5.59 ERA in 33 games split between the Pittsburg Browns (3-5, 4.30) and Salina Blue Jays (4-10, 6.92), walking 130 in 185 innings.

Following his career, he returned to college then worked for the Department of Natural Resources from 1966-1985. He also turned to writing. He penned a weekly column, "Boot Prints," for the Spooner Advocate in Spooner, WI. He also authored numerous books.
