Biographical Information[edit]
Billy Holm was a catcher with good defensive skills who didn't hit enough to stick in the majors. He played on two top minor league teams, the 1938 Newark Bears and the 1943 Los Angeles Angels, hitting .292 for the Angels in 1943. With the Bears in 1938 he also played 16 games at shortstop.
He played for the Norfolk Tars in 1936, was with the Angels in 1940 and 1941, with the Tulsa Oilers in 1942, and the Portland Beavers in 1946 and 1947. He then coached and managed in the minors.
