Biographical Information[edit]
Not to be confused with Bill Buckner, the pitching Billy Buckner spurned the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in 2003 for a year with the South Carolina Gamecocks before signing with scout Spencer Graham of the Kansas City Royals as a second round pick in 2004. In six big league stop and start spurts with four teams (primarily the Arizona Diamondbacks), Billy had a 7-12 record and 6.02 ERA in 44 games (24 starts) and 161 1/3 innings.
