William Henry Becannon

Biographical Information[edit]

Billy Becannon umpired 12 games in the American Association in 1883. He was the brother of Buck Becannon. Like his brother and alongside Tim Keefe, he was part owner of the Keefe and Becannon Sporting Goods Company, based in New York, NY, which was the principal equipment supplier to the short-lived Players League. The company went bankrupt after the league collapsed.
