Biographical Information[edit]
Bill Tobin played in various leagues during 1877-79, coming to the majors in 1880 with two teams, the 1880 Worcester Ruby Legs and the 1880 Troy Trojans. Thereafter he continued to play in the minors for at least two seasons.
One site [1] says he played in 1874 for an amateur team called the Hartford Amateurs. He played first base, and seemed to play first throughout his career. After his baseball career ended, he became a police officer.
