William Theunissen

Biographical Information[edit]

Bill Theunissen was a college coach. He served in the Navy in World War II. After winning 13 varsity letters (baseball, basketball and golf) at Central Michigan College of Education, he took over the head coaching position at CMU in 1952. He coached until after the 1962 season, compiling a record of 154-115-1. He coached Tom Tresh, who would go on to the best 20th Century career of any position player from CMU. The baseball stadium at Central Michigan is named after him.
