Biographical Information[edit]
Bill Spanswick pitched 29 games for the Boston Red Sox in 1964. He was 2-3 with an ERA of 6.89. This was the only year he played in the majors.
As a batter, he hit .286 with a .375 on-base percentage in the majors.
He had some great successes in the minors. In 1958, in the Nebraska State League, he led the league in strikeouts. In one game he had 22 strikeouts while pitching a one-hitter. In another game, this one extra innings, he had 24 strikeouts in 14 innings. In 1959 in the Carolina League, he went 15-4.
