Biographical Information[edit]

Third baseman Bill Norris played in the Boston Red Sox system from 1990 to 1994. He was taken by the club in the 25th round of the 1990 amateur draft, one pick ahead of pitcher Lance Painter. He peaked at Double-A.

He didn't hit a home run in 192 at-bats in his first professional season, but he managed 10 with 60 RBI in 134 games for the Lynchburg Red Sox in 1991. His power surge was a one-off affair, as he slugged just 1, 3 and 4 home runs over his final three seasons, respectively.

Overall, Norris hit .244/.308/.333 with 18 home runs and 157 RBI in 456 games over 5 seasons.
