William Ray Marchant

Biographical Information[edit]

Bill Marchant was a college coach. He was a high school coach for many years, then was head coach of Delta State University (his alma mater) from 1989-1996. In April 1993, his car flipped off the road, resulting in his being paralyzed from the sternum down but continued to coach, having some of his best seasons after the accident.

He was 283-127-1 at Delta State and set a school record for wins (53-8) in 1996. He took the school to third place at the 1994 Division II College World Series and fourth at the 1996 Division II College World Series.
