Bill Madden

Bill Madden (born 1946) was a sportswriter for the New York Daily News. He began his career with UPI before joining the Daily News in 1978. He was first a beat writer covering the New York Yankees, before becoming a columnist in 1989. He has also written a number of books about baseball. He is a member of the BBWAA.

He was named the recopient of the J.G. Taylor Spink Award in 2010 and was honored at the 2011 Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

In 2015, he was laid off from the Daily News alongside a number of other long-time journalists and columnists.
