Biographical Information[edit]
When pitcher Bill Landis stole second base against the Cleveland Indians while playing for the Boston Red Sox on September 8, 1969, he became the last Boston pitcher to notch a stolen base in the 20th century. In fact, no Red Sox pitcher would steal another base until Joe Kelly stole third base on August 12, 2014.
