Biographical Information[edit]

Bill Knickerbocker was an infielder, mostly a shortstop, for 14 seasons in Organized Ball from 1930 to 1943, ten in the Major Leagues and four in the minors. Knickerbocker served in the U.S. Army as a Private First Class during World War II and never returned to baseball afterwards. He died at age 51 at Palm Drive Hospital in Sebastopol, CA from a heart attack and is buried at Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno, CA.
