Biographical Information[edit]

Bill Johnson pitched in the minor leagues and the CPBL.

Johnson was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 8th round of the 1989 Amateur Draft, and he was 3-4 with a 4.33 ERA for the Spokane Indians in 1989. He struggled in 1990 as he was 3-14 with a 6.81 ERA for the Charleston Rainbows (5th in the South Atlantic League in losses), and he went 3-4 with a 6.44 ERA in 1991. Johnson pitched 7 games for the Waterloo Diamonds in 1992, and his ERA was 8.71. After going 13-4 with a 3.65 ERA for the Tyler Wildcatters (finishing 6th in the Texas-Louisiana League in ERA and trailing only Tony Mack in wins), the Wei Chuan Dragons of Taiwan signed him. He was 5-2 with a 4.89 ERA in 1995, and he returned to the Wildcatters in 1996. Johnson was 4-5 with a 2.97 ERA in that year, and it was his last season as a professional player.
