Biographical Information[edit]

Left-hander Bill Holland spent four active seasons in professional baseball from 1938 to 1941. He spent the tail-end of the 1939 season, September 17th to 26th with the Washington Senators. He appeared in three games, gave up six hits and five runs in four innings and ended his major league run with an 0-1 record and a 11.25 ERA.

Holland spent the remainder of his pro career in the minors from 1938 to 1941, having his best season in 1938 when he went 6-5 in a split-season affair with the Orlando Senators of the Florida State League and the Greenville Spinners of the South Atlantic League. He left baseball after the 1941 season with a minor league record of 27-38 while appearing in 95 games with just over a 2.21 ERA.

Holland died at the age of 81 on April 5, 1997 in Goldsboro, NC.
