"Coyle, a local pitcher, relieved Staley in the sixth inning and did pretty well." - Sporting Life, July 15, 1893, describing Bill Coyle's major league debut in a game on July 7 against Pittsburgh
Bill Coyle pitched two games for the Boston Beaneaters on back-to-back July days in 1893. He later managed the 1897 Springfield Governors.
