Bill Blackwell (executive)
Bill Blackwell got into baseball as an announcer for the Springfield Redbirds in 1978. He was GM of the Shelby Mets and Columbia Mets from 1982-1987, then held the same role with the Jackson Generals from 1987-1999 and Greensboro Bats (2000-2002) and Charlotte Knights. In 2002, he was inducted into the South Atlantic League Hall of Fame.
