Biographical Information[edit]
Timothy "Biff" Sheehan appeared in 52 games with the 1895 St. Louis Browns and in 6 with the 1896 St. Louis Browns. His batting average in 1895, .317, was well above the team average.
Sheehan was born in Hartford, CT and played baseball for years with teams in Connecticut and elsewhere in the Northeast before coming to the majors at age 27 in 1895. He was one of the better hitters on the 1895 Browns, a team which finished in 11th place.
Sheehan didn't hit much for the Browns in early 1896, and spent part of the season in the New England League. He continued to play in the minors through at least 1899.
