Biographical Information[edit]
Bernie Castro played 66 big league games split between bitter MASN rivals Baltimore (24 games in 2005) and Washington (42 games in 2006). He hit .253/.317/.316 in 190 at bats, failing to impress. Later, he was 6-for-9 with 4 walks in the 2008 Caribbean Series; while he could not qualify for the batting lead, he was named to the Series All-Star team as a left fielder.
Castro was an infield coach for the DSL Angels in 2015 and hitting coach for the DSL Pirates in 2016-2017.
In addition to coaching in the DSL, Castro spent a number of winters coaching in the Dominican League.
