Biographical Information[edit]
Benno Niemeijer was a Hoofdklasse pitcher and long-time administrator.
He pitched for HVA when they won promotion to the Hoofdklasse in 1964 and appeared for them in 1965-1966. On Opening Day, 1965, he lost a 1-0 game to Herman Beidschat and Haarlem Nicols, having blanked the powerhouse for eight innings. He was back in the Dutch minors for several more seasons and also played softball. He served in administrative roles in baseball in the 1970s. He had a doctorate in economics.
