Biographical Information[edit]

Bennie Rothstein played in the minor leagues on-and-off from 1930 to 1938. His career was bookended by two high-average seasons. In 1930, he hit .318 with 95 hits in 79 games for the Columbus Foxes and in 1938, he hit .348 with 106 hits in 80 games between the Concord Weavers and New Bern Bears. The previous year, also with New Bern, he hit 25 home runs, though his average was just .265. Overall, Rothstein hit .294 with 334 hits over five seasons.
