Biographical Information[edit]
Ben de Brouwer pitched for HSC Tilburg in the Dutch minors. He was invited to train with the New York Yankees in 1968. Joining Sparta in the Hoofdklasse in 1969, he pitched for them for four seasons, winning three titles, before a shoulder injury ended his playing career. He was with the Dutch national team in the 1970 Amateur World Series and 1971 European Championship, winning the latter year. He was the first association director of the Royal Dutch Baseball and Softball Association. He died in a car accident.
