The brother of Andrew Utting, shortstop Ben Utting played four years in the Atlanta Braves organization. He also played two summers in U.S. independent leagues. Backing up Mat Buckley in the 1999 Intercontinental Cup, he was 0 for 3 but scored a crucial run in the title game as they topped Cuba for Australia's lone world title in baseball as of 2024.
