George Benjamin Shom
Ben Shom played for Western Australia in the Claxton Shield from 1939 until at least 1952. He helped Western Australia win their first Shield in 1952, with 3 hits and the only run in a 16-inning 1-0 win. In the finale, he scored the first run, driven in by Charlie Puckett. He was a shortstop, usually hitting leadoff. He was inducted into the Baseball Australia Hall of Fame in 2018.
