Biographical Information[edit]
Ben Koehler was the starting centerfielder on the 1905 St. Louis Browns. That year, he hit .237 on a team that hit .232. In 1906, he dropped to .220 while the team moved up to .247.
His minor league career started in 1902 and ended in 1923. He managed several times in the minors.
He was born in Germany in 1877, the same year that Pep Deininger was born there.
He and Pip Koehler are the only two major leaguers through 2008 with the last name Koehler.
