Biographical Information[edit]

The Chicago Cubs drafted Ben Carhart in the 35th round of the 2012 Amateur Draft from Stetson University. Carhart played in the Cubs minor league system from 2012-2016, reaching AAA for four games in his final season. Overall, Carhart hit .270/.329/.382 while appearing in 372 games. Defensively he played all the infield positions except shortstop.

After retiring as a player, Carhart remained in the Cubs organization as a rehabilitation coach in 2017. He spent the next two seasons as an assistant coach with the Tennessee Smokies.

In a somewhat unusual move, Carhart joined the Baltimore Orioles in 2020 as a bullpen catcher. It is more common for bullpen catchers to move into a coaching role. Carhart remained an Orioles bullpen catcher through the 2023 season.
