Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Beau Jones was selected by the Atlanta Braves in the supplemental 1st round of the 2005 amateur draft, 41st overall. He was signed by scout Don Thomas and made his pro debut that summer with the GCL Braves, where he went 3-2 with a 3.86 ERA in 8 games. He was promoted to the Rome Braves in 2006 and went 5-5 with a 5.61 ERA in 25 games. In 2007, Jones was 5-0 with 3 saves and a 2.96 ERA for Rome in 21 games and had a 15.26 ERA in five outings for the Myrtle Beach Pelicans. He was then dealt with Jarrod Saltalamacchia, Elvis Andrus, Neftali Feliz and Matt Harrison to the Texas Rangers in exchange for Mark Teixeira and Ron Mahay.
