Biographical Information[edit]
Beattie Feathers was an All-American at University of Tennessee in 1933. He played outfield in the minors from 1936-1939 and 1942-1943, and was a player/manager for the Kingsport Cherokees of the Appalachian League in 1943, where he hit .346 with 9 HR and 87 RBI. He then was the head baseball and football coach at North Carolina State College from 1944 to 1951 and the head baseball coach at Texas Tech University from 1954-1960 and Wake Forest University from 1972-1975.
He played for Chicago (1934-1937), Brooklyn (1938-1939) and Green Bay (1940) in the National Football League.
