Biographical Information[edit]

Bates Archer was a minor-league player in 1910 and 1911.

The southpaw grew up in the Chicago, IL area, playing in local amateur and semi-pro teams before playing in the minors. He went 11-19 for the Davenport Prodigals of the Three-I League in 1910 (including a no-hitter against the Danville Speakers, tying Red Faber for the league lead in losses. He then pitched for a number of teams in the Pacific Northwest in 1911, going 11-12.
