Baseball City Stadium was bulit in 1988 as part of the Baseball City attraction in Davenport, FL. Baseball City was a baseball theme park located outside of Orlando. The park, owned by Anheuser-Busch, was home to the Baseball City Royals from 1988 - 1992 and the spring training for the Kansas City Royals from 1988 - 2002, luring both away from Fort Myers, FL. In 1993 the minor league team moved and the theme park was closed. This loss of revenue led to Anheuser-Busch trying to sell the stadium. While there were no buyers the Royals continued to train in the city until their contract ran out in 2002. Once free of their contract the team moved to Surprise, AZ. After failing to attract a new spring tenant, Anheuser-Busch sold the stadium to developers. After only 17 years the stadium was torn down to make way for condos.
