Biographical Information[edit]
Barry Bruckner pitched one season in the minors.
Bruckner set a Valparaiso University record for ERA (1.32) in 1960, a mark that stood for a decade; he also led the team in wins (6) and whiffs (28) that year. In 1961, he again led in ERA (2.25), wins (5) and Ks (56) and this time was also All-Indiana Collegiate Conference. He hit a team-best .358 in 1962 and made All-Conference. He played for Team USA when they won a Silver Medal in the 1963 Pan American Games.
Signing with the Chicago White Sox, he pitched 21 games for the 1964 Sarasota Sun Sox, going 2-2 with a 3.38 ERA. He allowed 41 hits and 29 walks in 56 innings.
